With all my heart card - Wow Embossing Powder

Hello there and sweet day! Here's a little something I created for Wow Embossing Powder - a heart shaped card. Love is in the air as Valentines Day closes in, but on the other hand, there's always a good day to spread some love! Don't you think that too?

I have to confess something. Before my two girls I disliked pink. Even as a child I wanted to have the blue versions of everything as in my youth it seemed that everything came in either pink or blue. I can even remember having an argument with my mom about a jacket she was buying to me as she suggested this pale pink, like a cotton candy color and I insisted of having the jeans blue one.

So yes, pink has never been my favorite. Even when my girls were small, they were rather clothed in blue than pink - and I heard quite a few times what lovely little boy I had. But when my older one turned three, everything changed. She insisted on having everything in pink and in glitter. So I just had to learn to live with it. And slowly I started first to endure pink and then even to love it. So nowadays you'll see quite a lot of pink in my crafts! Blue is still my favorite, by far.

But when it comes to hearts and Valentines, there's only one color to use and that's the once dreaded pink! If you wish to see how the card was made, please visit the Wow blog for a step by step (link)

One more time, the finished pink card with the sparkling and golden touches! A great little something to be given to a loved one with a box of chocolates or a nice bunch of flowers!

Thank you for stopping by today! I hope the card inspires you! Lots of love!

Love Story tags - Prima Marketing

Moikka! Have you seen the Prima's sneak peeks about the new collections? And some of the reveal posts as well? If not, please head to Prima blog (link) to take a look! These two tags are done with the Love Story collection!

The idea behind these two tags was to make tags using the same materials but different colors. I chose to make the other tag golden, inspired by the stems or berries in the flower pack, and the other in sweet pink.

I used the map patterned paper as my background and layered some washi tape on top. I also created some texture to the tags using Paper Texture Paste and then layered several lovely blooms from the “Love Story” collection on top.

Thank you for your visit today! Wishing you a sweet Tuesday!

Good mood tags - 7 Dots Studio

Moikka! How are you doing? Today I'm sharing some colorful tags for good mood! Winter is a dark time here in Finland where I live so some color is in order and I thought that some positive, inspiring quotes would be just the thing for the start of the year! This is my first post and project for 7 Dots Studio in 2018. So I combined the two things said previously and played with the “Paint chips” collection at the same time.

The tags have a mixed media inspired base done with acrylic paints and some stamping and then I embellished them using die cuts. To finalize each one, I used some Word Stickers. Don’t you just love those? I mean, they have such great sayings in them! If you wish to see how the tags were made, please watch the video below.

Thank you for stopping by today! Wishing you a great start to the week and lots of creativity and time to use it! If I haven't said it already too many times - happy 2018!

Art Venture canvas - Prima Marketing

Tomorrow is the day! I'm so excited! Art Venture will happen and this is my project for it - wish me luck!

The project is about Impasto Paints, using them different ways, about collaging and most importantly having fun with mediums. I've packed some Finnish books with me for the background to add some "exotic" flavor there. But what I'm most thrilled with is the scissors, there's going to be scissors in the kits!

As this is a class project, I can't naturally share much info about the techniques but I'm happy to share the project and the anticipation. Oh how I wish everything goes well!

Have a great weekend, everyone! All the best and thank you for your visit today!

Eccentric birds ATCs - Sizzix

Hiya! How are you today! I'm sharing some quirky birdies today! These ATCs are made for Sizzix. The idea came from the die with a little bird house and the bird. Even though it's January, my mind's turning to spring already and I thought that birds and flowers would be a perfect fit!

I started with some monoprinted sheets of cardstock. I chose purple and orange as my color scheme. Really unusual for me, but I thought that combo would be energetic and fresh! If you wish to see, how I created the set, please see the video below!

There's three different birdies in the set - "Puddle Jumper", "Star Gazer" and a "Mark Maker". All rare and not often seen species! As always, please let me know if you'd like a card from this set! They all are free for grabs.

Thank you for stopping by today and have a great start to the weekend! Wishing you some wonderful crafty time! Ta ta for now!

True Love - Tape Garden

Love is in the air! Can you feel it too? The Valentines Day is coming and it's always a good day to share some love! This card was made as a sample for Teippitarha - Tape Garden.

There's some washi tape strips in the background and some stickers on top of those. The focal point is a sticker, too. I combined a heart sticker with a see-through "Love" one and cut the two of them out of the piece of cardstock I layered them onto.

Have a happy Thursday! Thank you for stopping by!

Inspired By... Vol. 1/2018

Hello there! Can you believe it's time for the first Inspire By in 2018? This year we are doing it a bit differently. Let me fill you in.

Inspired By is something sweet Marsha and me have been doing for years now. Until this year it was that we chose a subject to be inspired by and then did something inspired by that theme, a piece of art or a book. The inspiration could be anything but we both turned that into some kind of project and blogged the creation on the 10th. You can browse the past "Inspired By" posts from here (link).

Inspired By is a playground, a concept we can use to explore, to play and discover. We can do as much or as little we want and have time for. I guess it's not a surprise then that we both enjoy Inspired By very much but after doing it the same way so many years, we thought to change the things a bit.

This year, 2018, we both just post on the 10th with some source of inspiration we found that month. Or rather on a period from the 10th of previous month to 9th of the current month. It can be a series of photos, a book we read, an artwork we saw, just a pebble on the street or a new product we bought. We can make something using that source, but it's more about sharing just the inspiration. Consider it as a window to our creative minds!

I really thought to choose something else as my source of inspiration for this first post, but unfortunately this little thing is occupying so much of my mind right now there's no going around it. I honestly tried to avoid it, but nope, I couldn't do it. I say "little thing" but in fact it's a huge deal for me! For the first time I get to see the new things right away. For the first time I get to meet some people in real life, like Keren Tamir! For the first time I get to experience the hustle and bustle of the Creativation!

When I state that I'm inspired by the Creativation, I guess it's more like the anticipation and the thought or idea of Creativation I have in my head. The idea might totally be off what it actually then is, but let's see! I'm also thrilled, excited and terrified. I'm trying to figure out what I need to take with me and if I have everything and how the workshops will go and then there's demos and and and... I've been sleeping quite poorly lately with all the excitement, stress and anticipation.

I've actually done several projects inspired by Creativation and everything connected to it. Unfortunately I can't show any of those yet. But there's some fun stuff coming! And I can't wait for the wave of inspiration what's going to probably hit me in the show! I'm trying to share some pictures along the way when there, but I'm not sure how much is allowed and how much time I'll have and if I have a connection or not... So try to bear with me! If I get to share some photos, it'll be in Instagram.

So for this post I'm sorry to leave you hanging in a way. There's not that much to be shared just yet as everything is either a big hus hus or just a great deal of anticipation. The sneaks of the new collection have started in Prima's blog (link), though, so if you want to see a glimpse of stuff I've been creating with, I suggest you visit that. The projects shall soon start to appear in there, too. But in the meanwhile I'm so eager to see what has inspired Marsha in the beginning of this new year! Here's a direct link to her post (link)! Let's all go and explore!
